AdviceTech and the client experience
Exploring the human side of technology
Download the reportIn this report, we examine the needs of the Advisable Australian, especially the more affluent ones, and identify eight important trends where your business's investment in client-facing AdviceTech could be directed.
Firms and clients agree that there is a strong link between good technology used and client satisfaction. Here are some key insights from our 2022 AdviceTech Client Experience Report indicating their beliefs.
For the Emerging Affluent, the technology credentials of a financial advice firm is in their top 3 most important factors (51.6% identify this) when choosing a brand or firm. AdviceTech Stars get it, with 42.2% currently offering a client portal.
In 2017 only a third (33.5%) of advice firms used this tech, but now they are used by more than two-thirds (67.7%). Further almost four in 10 (36.6%) say this tech has provided them the greatest business benefits.
Advice firms need to support the multi-channel needs of Advisable Australians, whether that is in person, online meetings or via email or SMS. AdviceTech like advanced email marketing systems can help.
Over seven in 10 Advisable Australians expect their advice firm to use digital tools, such as online calculators, podcasts and videos, to demonstrate how they’re tracking to goals, how their investment portfolio is performing, plus to educate them on financial concepts.
Over half (55.8%) of advice firms share this concern , however only a quarter of advice firms (23.8%) strongly agree that they have appropriate levels of cyber security, confidentiality procedures in place.
AdviceTech Stars have embraced social media, and since last year, daily posting to social media has more than doubled by these firms from 7% to 18%, and monthly posting has also increased to one in three.
